For my graduation project in DNMADE Graphism at Gobelins Paris, I conducted a one-hour in-depth conversation with Nina Hlacer, the Art Director of Le Monde Diplomatique. This discussion explored the future of print media and newspapers that are hardly read today, during which she shared valuable insights from her professional experience at Le Monde and Le Monde Diplomatique. This exchange directly followed the writing of my thesis titled À LA UNE, which focused on the lack of accessibility in contemporary press and the fact that the youth don’t read printed newspapers. Talking with her helped me clarify my subject by discussing current reading practices, how newspapers are used today, and how to transmit print culture to future generations.
To materialize this project, I produced a printed edition in four copies, along with two A1 posters of the edition cover. Finally, I created an eight-page research newspaper sample following the same art direction, which was printed in two copies.
